Port Alberni was once the busiest port in British Columbia and the centre of the booming lumber export trade to Southern California. We are the perfect location for exploring the East and West coast of Vancouver Island.  You are less than two hours drive to the beautiful surfing beaches of Ucluelet and Tofino to the West.  An amazing cruise on the MV Frances Barkley takes you to Bamfield. You can also visit this quaint village by a scenic drive up the Inlet.  To the south and less than an hour away are the many attractions along historic Highway 4, once the main highway in British Columbia.  From there you hit Old Island Highway, Milner Gardens, Rathtrevor Beach and the incredible North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre. At Outdoor Lovers Bed and Breakfast you’re minutes from historic attractions like McLean’s Mill, world class hiking trails (Stamp Long River Trail, Alberni Inlet Trail) and from late  August to October, you can witness the magnificent Stamp River Chinook Salmon Run and the bears and eagles it attracts!
